We are an amateur community choir for adults and based at Storey's Field Centre, Eddington Avenue CB3 1AA. We meet on Mondays in school term time from 19.00 to 20.00. Meetings are currently taking place by Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will return to Storey's Field Centre when the situation allows and the meeting will again be for a full two hours. Our Musical Director Bridget Hardy is an experienced, professional mezzo-soprano that teaches from both sheet music and by ear. In the final hour of the session experienced musician Colin Hazel accompanies us on the piano. We have a wide-ranging repertoire, including classical, baroque, folk, musical theatre and pop. We sing in a mixture of male and female voices, predominantly in two-, three- and sometimes four-part harmony. There are no auditions to join the choir. We put on a concert after two terms of rehearsing. Concerts have been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic but will resume when this is possible. For Term dates and Fees please see CHOIR DETAILS subheading Term. Fees vary slightly depending on the length of the term and are payable at the start of each term by cheque or Bankers Order. (We do not handle cash.) Fees are always accurately updated on this website, see CHOIR DETAILS subheading Term Dates & Fees. Members’ fees cover the hire of premises, the purchasing of sheet music, occasional workshop for the members, insurance and the fees to pay our professional Musical Director and Accompanist, a small number of midi files and occasionally for a professional arrangement of a piece for the choir. For Data Protection Policy please see Choir Details. Photographs from the rehearsals in November 2018 and the concert in December 2018, including the photograph above, were taken by Paul Ashley of Paul Ashley Photography, Cambridge. |
