Castle Street Methodist Church, Cambridge
We are an amateur community choir for adults currently based at the Castle Street Methodist Church Hall.
We have a wide-ranging repertoire, including classical, baroque, folk, musical theatre and pop. We sing in a mixture of male and female voices, predominantly in two-, three- and sometimes four-part harmony. There are no auditions to join the choir.
Our Musical Director Bridget Hardy is an experienced, professional mezzo-soprano that teaches from both sheet music and by ear.
We meet at Castle Street Methodist Church Hall during term time on Mondays between 19:00-21:00. Please see the map below for location.
The final hour of the session experienced musician Colin Hazel accompanies us on the piano.
We put on a concert after two terms of rehearsing.
Fees vary slightly depending on the length of the term and are payable at the start of each term. Members’ fees cover the hire of premises, the purchasing of sheet music, occasional workshop for the members, insurance and the fees to pay our professional Musical Director and Accompanist, a small number of midi files and occasionally for a professional arrangement of a piece for the choir.
