CHOIR CONSTITUTION
Singing Allowed Cambridge (The Choir)
Aims
To provide the opportunity for members, regardless of experience or ability, to enjoy singing in a choir and to develop their ability to sing in a variety of different styles. From time to time the opportunity will also be provided to share the enjoyment of singing, by performing concerts of the songs that members have learned.
The members will be instructed by a Musical Director who will teach singing techniques as appropriate to achieving the aims of The Choir.

Members
The Choir will be open to all members of the public regardless of ability, disability, race, gender, sexual orientation or creed. Membership will be at the discretion of the committee. Members will be expected to partake of the community spirit of the group and to be friendly and courteous to other members and to all providers of services and facilities to the group.

Fees
Fees will be payable for membership of The Choir. The amount payable, the frequency of payment and the method of collecting fees will be determined by the committee.
Any income and property of the group shall be applied solely towards promoting the objects and aims of the group. The division of profits or assets among group members is prohibited.
In the event of Singing Allowed being wound up, any assets remaining after the payment of debts and liabilities will be transferred to a not for profit institution or institutions with similar musical objectives. No remaining assets will be distributed to members.

Members of the committee will be elected by the members of The Choir at the inaugural meeting and subsequent Annual General Meetings. The committee will have as its officers a Chairman, Membership Secretary and Treasurer as elected by the members.
The committee may appoint any choir member who is willing to sit on the committee. They may also appoint committee members to act as officers. All such appointees shall then stand for election by members of The Choir at the next annual general meeting.
The committee will be responsible for financial management of The Choir, including the collection of fees, hiring of a Musical Director, the hiring of venues, purchase of music and insurance and the administration of any other incidental costs that may be incurred in the running of The Choir.
The committee will also be responsible for the conduct and safety of the members of The Choir and the safety and condition of any premises which The Choir makes use of.
